With the exception of Centre Cane our canes are not peeled or bleached. Most canes are soaked, the knots sanded and then oiled. This brings out the natural markings and colours in the rattan.

Tohiti Judicial Cane |
|

Description: These canes are the statutary size for prison canes in places like Singapore and Malaysia. The stance and power required to wield one of these means it is never going to be a pleasant sensation. Traditionally the bottom third of the cane is soaked overnight to give it extra weight and flexibility. In the soaked state and at full force it will break open the skin by the second or third stroke. Unsoaked and with less force it is a hard thud with a deep and long-lasting feel. Black Whangee Cane |

Description: Well, more chocolate brown than black but what’s in a name? Whangee is our only bamboo cane. Bamboo is not normally suitable for canes because it tends to split and splinter along the stem but the knots on the whangee cane are so close together this rarely happens. Severe. Good for hard, heavy play.
